A Personal Injury Law Firm With a Vision

In 2009, attorney Joe Shannon founded Shannon Law Group, P.C. with a vision. He wanted to make a significant difference in the lives of real people whose lives were turned upside down by a catastrophic personal injury. When Joe first became a lawyer over 30 years ago, he represented corporations and insurance companies. He defended them against people who were injured by these corporations. Joe saw the struggles these people were facing. He couldn't turn a blind eye to shady insurance company tactics.

That's why he decided to switch sides and become a personal injury lawyer for the people of Chicago and Illinois. But he wanted Shannon Law Group to be different from other injury law firms that take thousands and thousands of cases a year. Instead, we only take cases where someone was catastrophically injured because we want to make a difference in the lives of our clients and those around them.

How do we do this? By preparing each case for trial. Oftentimes, this is the ONLY way to get our clients what they need financially and emotionally after a catastrophic event. Insurance companies won't pay you what you deserve without putting pressure on them.

We also don't look upon our clients as transactions or numbers -- we build relationships with them. Because we only take specific types of cases, we have time to thoroughly investigate your case. We will help you as much as we would help our own family members. Our clients are our family, and we'll overcome every obstacle to fight for them.

Today, our team has made a huge difference in the lives of clients. Several were awarded multi-million verdicts and settlements. To date, we secured the largest verdict in Will County history.

If you or someone you love was catastrophically injured by someone else's negligence, our Chicago personal injury lawyers are here to help. Contact us today at (312) 874-6730 to schedule your free consultation today.

Every day, founder Joe Shannon strives to make a difference in the lives of his family, community, and clients. As a personal injury attorney in Chicago, Joe enjoys representing the vulnerable and coming through for them when they need someone in their corner.

Joe was born and raised in a small town in Washington state with 9 siblings. From an early age, his parents Tom and JoAnne taught him the importance of putting others in his community first.

Growing up, Joe's family didn’t make a lot of money, but they had rich relationships with each other and their neighbors. His parents taught him that it’s important to be there when people need you most.

From Defending Insurance Companies to Representing the Vulnerable

Personal Injury Attorney Joe Shannon

With over 30 years of experience, Joe founded our personal injury firm, Shannon Law Group, P.C., in 2009. Before he represented seriously injured folks, Joe represented big insurance companies and corporations.

Joe left the insurance industry because he wanted to make a difference for real folks who don’t have anyone to protect their rights after a catastrophic accident.

Joe’s past experience as an insurance defense lawyer gives him an edge over them today. He knows the “inside baseball” of their trade. He knows the games that insurance companies and their lawyers play to screw over injured folks and ultimately underpay their claims. Today, he uses this insider knowledge against them.

If you were injured due to someone else’s negligence, Joe would be happy to sit down with you and explore your options. Text him at (312) 847-2428 to get started.

Answers to Your Most Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re seriously injured and someone else is at fault, hiring a lawyer can be one of the best you can do for yourself and your case. People represented by an experienced lawyer often recover significantly more money than they would if they didn’t. Why? Because insurance adjusters and companies know that you don’t fully understand the value of your case.

As trial lawyers, we know how to investigate and add significant value to your case. When you hire a lawyer, you’re leveling the playing field between you and the insurance company. We also take the stress off of your shoulders so you can focus on getting better.

When you contact Shannon Law Group, one of our lawyers will personally review your case at no cost to you. If we can help you, we will. If we’re unable to help you, we will refer you to another lawyer who can. Call us 24/7 at (312) 578-9501 to get started.

At Shannon Law Group, we are paid on a contingency fee basis. What does that mean? We don’t get paid until we come through for you at the end of your case. We take a fee when we achieve a settlement or award for you.

If we are unable to come through for you, we will absorb the costs of your case. As our client, you will never receive a bill or invoice from our office.

In the United States, every state has a statute of limitations (or deadline) for filing an injury lawsuit. This deadline varies from 1-3 years. In Illinois, you typically have two years to file a lawsuit. That’s why it’s important to contact a lawyer as soon as possible after car accident or injury.

However, you should still contact a lawyer even if you believe your time has run out. It may not be too late to pursue a lawsuit. Contact us today to get started.

FAQ: How Do We Get Paid?

At Shannon Law Group, P.C., we don’t get paid unless we come through for you. You might be asking yourself, “How does that work?” It’s simple. Most cases we handle are done on a contingency fee basis.

A contingency fee is a fee that you agree to pay us if we handle your case successfully. Under a contingency fee arrangement, our office receives a percentage of the total we recover for you. We typically charge 1/3 (33.33%) on most of our personal injury cases.

Until we come through for you, we will front all of the costs necessary to pursue your case. These expenses include medical record copying fees, court filing fees, investigation fees, expert witness fees, and more.

If we are successful for you, these expenses will be subtracted from the total amount you are awarded by the court or by the negligent party. If there is no recovery for you case, we will never bill you for these expenses.

For vaccine injury cases, we do not charge a contingency fee. The Vaccine Injury Compensation Program pays us directly for filing and handling your vaccine injury claim.

When you retain Shannon Law Group, P.C., you will sign a written contract which clearly outlines the terms of our representation and states what the fee arrangement is for your case.
